camping with hide-a-boo

Now that fall is officially here, like a mother bear, I am preparing for hibernation. Ha! It sounds funny, but it is true. If you live in a cold climate, then you know how difficult the winter months can be. Everyone feels cooped up, especially the kids.

Sure, we like to get outside whenever we can. But it isn't just about the cold, it is about the darkness and finding things to keep everyone active and playful during the evening hours. During the winter months, it starts to get dark around 4:30, where I live in upstate New York.

Thankfully, there are companies like Hide-A-Boo (they sent me product in exchange for this post) who are dedicated to making products that encourage playtime! The camper hideout (they also have a castle, submarine, and spaceship) they sent me fits over a standard square card table and has a different feature on each side and top for purposeful and engaging playtime.

Best of all, each Hide-A-Boo comes with free teachables - I am talking around 60 pages of games, activities, printables, lessons, and more. One the day I took photos, we printed off the campfire and the puppet set. Being able to pull out the Hide-A-Boo with a different companion activity will be a game changer, making it seem like a completely new "toy" every time!

Now, this year, I feel like I will have a secret weapon to pull out when my cubs get rowdy and bored!
