may day flowers

When you live in a place where winter seems to last forever and it continues to snow into April, May Day is not just an excuse to buy flowers. It is a true celebration of overcoming the winter's darkness, welcoming spring, and spreading smiles like crazy!

This May Day, we celebrated by filling tins with fresh flowers! You can easily find tins similar to these by heading to the kitchen section of your local thrift store or flea market. Keep an open mind and look for colors that speak to you, unique shapes, and interesting designs. This is the perfect opportunity to recycle old and rusty tins into something beautiful!

Simply drill a few small drain holes in the bottom, then add fresh dirt and flowers. Each one of these "baskets" cost about $5 total (including the plants!) and will be sure to make people smile!
