baby fever

Over Christmas we got to meet our newest niece - little baby Sophie! She was 11 weeks when these photos were taken and such a little doll. She was so happy, easygoing, and absolutely sweet! Both Parker and Matilda feel head over heels for her - we all did - I guess I was just surprised how much attention she would get from Parker, in particular. He loved to look at her little hands, put his hand through her soft hair, and make her smile. It was just the absolutely sweetest thing!

But what surprised me even more is that I didn't feel an ounce of baby fever. Instead, I really enjoyed the role of aunt and was thankful that I wasn't the one getting up in the night, pacing out a nursing schedule, or changing diapers. It felt nice to be "over" that phase. All of these feelings were a total surprise to me!

Now, I am not saying that I will never again have baby fever, but just that I feel so content and happy with where my family is at right now! And, that feels fantastic.
