may day flower bags

I don't remember who I did it with or why, but one time I went to a nursing home, as a child, to drop off May Day baskets full of flowers. I want my kids to learn that giving to others, even in small ways, can impact life in the most positive way. Matilda was given a liver, the least we can do is give flowers on May Day.

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

So be kind and make these bags, fill them with flowers, and make someone's day a little more happy. I got the idea from a friend of mine - Melissa of Lulu The Baker. I followed this tutorial that she did as a guest post for another blog, except I spray painted designs on the bags before I got started. To accomplish that look, I used painters tape in various ways/designs and then lightly sprayed the bags from a few feet away. Parker helped with the taping, I did the spraying, and Matilda ran around exploring the yard.
